Rope Technology

The working field of the department of Rope Technology include Destructive Rope Testing, Non-Destructive Rope Testing and Ropes in Application. Approvals and notifications exist for the areas of cableway technology and personal protective equipment in mountain sports (PPE).

The employees of the Rope Technology department work on both industrial and research-oriented projects. Financing comes from national funding institutions such as the DFG and AiF as well as from EU programs. Research activities focus on projects in the field of wire and fiber ropes, which are carried out in cooperation with a wide range of partners from industry and science.

Employees of the Rope Technology department are actively represented in various standardization committees and organizations. The standardization institutions involved include DIN, CEN, ISO and FEM, as well as the UIAA in the area of PPE. We are also members of the DSV, OIPEEC, OITAF and Eurocord organisations. 

Our quality management system and the continuous training of our employees ensure that our projects are carried out professionally and that we achieve our goals.
