Rope Technology

The working field of the department of Rope Technology include Destructive Rope Testing, Non-Destructive Rope Testing and Ropes in Application. Approvals exist for the areas of cableway technology and personal protective equipment in mountain sports (PPE).

The core competencies of the Rope Technology department.

Technical Logistics | Material Flow Automation

Technical Logistics | Material Flow Automation deals with the development of innovative solutions in research and technology as well as in practice-oriented industrial projects. The focus is on the development, improvement and optimization of machines and individual components in order to make material flow more efficient and sustainable.

Our work covers the following areas:

  • Machine development
  • Automated guided vehicles, mobile robotics
  • Test laboratory for material handling design elements
Kreisaktuator
The test stand for wheels and rollers of industrial trucks was developed and implemented by the Machine Design department.

Technical Logistics | Logistics Processes

The field of expertise can be divided into four areas:

At the IFT various test stations can be used for research activities, industrial cooperations and teaching. The Learning Warehouse (LernLager) e.g. can be used for the scientific analysis of manual picking processes.

New developments of the IFT in the field of flexible production logistics, for example in automobile production, are tested in ARENA2036 (Active Research Environment for the Next Generation of Automobiles).
