International rope expertise in Stuttgart – Successful 8th International Stuttgart Ropedays 2025
International experts from the research, development, production and application of ropes met in Stuttgart on May 28 and 29 for the two-day conference “8th International Stuttgart Ropedays 2025”. The event was organized by the Institute of Mechanical Handling and Logistics (IFT) at the University of Stuttgart and offered a platform for intensive exchange on current developments in the field of rope technology.
The conference was opened by Professor Robert Schulz, Director of the IFT. In his welcoming address, Professor Peter Middendorf, Rector of the University of Stuttgart, emphasized the high relevance of rope research and its wide range of applications. The lecture program ranged from wire ropes and fiber ropes to innovative hybrid ropes. Both practical experience and current scientific findings were presented and discussed. The combination of an industrial perspective and research insights made the event particularly valuable for all participants.
A particular highlight was the guided tour of the IFT's rope laboratory, which was visited with great interest. The participants also used the opportunity for intensive networking and professional exchange outside of the presentations.
We would like to thank all participants for their great interest and active exchange.
The next International Stuttgart Ropedays will take place in 2028 - then together with the OIPEEC conference. We are already looking forward to your visit!
