Transport Logistics

In the field of transport logistics, the IFT is researching innovative approaches to efficient and environmentally friendly freight transport. The focus is on the electrification of commercial vehicles, the integration of alternative propulsion systems, and the digital networking of vehicles and infrastructure.

In the current research project REALIST (Reality Lab for the accelerated electrification of urban logistics transport in Stuttgart), the IFT, together with the Institute for Energy Transmission and High-Voltage Technology (IEH) at the University of Stuttgart, as well as industry partners and associations from the logistics and energy sectors, is advancing the electrification of urban logistics transport in Stuttgart. As part of this effort, the practical deployment of three electric trucks in the Stuttgart metropolitan area is being tested and scientifically monitored.
